New Jersey is joining a growing number of states and municipalities across the U.S. in implementing benchmarking programs to track building energy and water performance. Under the Clean Energy Act of 2018, commercial building owners and operators are required to submit annual benchmarking reports. Energy and water benchmarking is an essential first step toward an effective energy efficiency strategy. By tracking building performance over time, you can identify opportunities to reduce operational costs, attract better tenants, and increase property value.
